SOUTH AMERICA EXPLORATION: COLOMBIA & BRAZIL
The Company's has acquired a significant land base of over 721,270 gross acres totaling six blocks in proven basins in Colombia (3 blocks) and Brazil (3 blocks). Petro Vista has exploration agreements in three hydrocarbon-rich properties in the Llanos and Rio Magdalena Basins in Colombia. These prolific basins are characterized as having large blocks, multiple high-productivity reservoir targets and large-structure prospects.
Petro Vista's strategy in Brazil is to build a base of low-risk low-cost production and exploration drilling opportunities in two focus areas of onshore Brazil while pursuing additional acreage in high-potential shallow water areas such as the Campos Basin, where Devon energy is producing 55,000 bopd with 200 MMBOE in reserves.
A drilling program of up to 8 wells is moving forward in Q4 2008 and in support of these operations; Petro Vista has established regional offices in Bogota Colombia and Aracaju, Brazil.
